At AnyDesk we work hard to add new features and functionality that help organizations fix problems more efficiently and effectively, while providing the best support experience possible. Our upcoming version, AnyDesk 3.0 will be launch soon and it includes new features and productivity enhacements based on the feedback from our faithful users. Here´s a quick summary of them:
Address Book Management
With the new AnyDesk 3.0 address book, you always have all the computers that you want to remotely control together in one convenient place. With the new and innovative tagging system, you can set up groups, and directly access the computer that you want to control remotely with just one click. Add some computers to you favourites, and they will always show up at the start of the list. And all address books are synchronized between your Professional license’s AnyDesk installations. But even without an address book, you can take advantage of our new contact management system. We’ve added an advanced view to the speed dial that let’s you use the whole window for your contacts instead of just one row. And it has a searchbox, too.
Online Status
All tiles in the address book and the speed dial now show the online status of the corresponding computer. So you can see at a clance, which computers you can connect to.
Whitelists
To start a session, you need the computer’s AnyDesk address. The request must then be confirmed by the computer user before the session is established. The whitelist sets out exactly who is authorised to access your computer. This ensures that nobody who isn’t authorised to do so can start a session. The whitelist could contain all the computers in your IT department, for example. Or perhaps just your own personal laptop, so that requests can only be made from there.
Session Window Redesign
For every connection request, a popup window appears on the host computer, which must be acknowledged if unattended access with password hasn’t been set up. In Version 3.0, this window received some love. It not displays multiple incoming sessions in a single window, so you don’t have lots of session windows open if many people are viewing your desktop (e.g. if you hold a presentation).
Deployment
To make the life of IT admins easier, the custom client can now include the licence key (MSI and EXE), so you don’t need to set it manually or by script anymore.
New Design
Last but not least, our program interface has undergone a complete refresh. Everything now shines with a contemporary sheen that blends in well with modern Windows systems. We love it, and your staff and clients will also come to do so.
Most of the new features and enhancements mentioned before are based on the feedback we received from you. A big thank you to all our faithful users for helping us to improve our product. If you have feature requests and ideas you would like to see in our incoming versions, please feel free to share your thoughts in our community: www.support.anydesk.com
AnyDesk 3.0 beta will be available in the next days, stay tuned!
ID & Alias
Each AnyDesk has a unique numerical ID to identify in the AnyDesk network. A readable Alias can be assigned to that ID. Both represent an address to the device.

The allowed characters are: numbers 0-9, letters a-z, A-Z, and symbols: minus(-), dot(.), and underscore(_). All other characters are forbidden and regarded as invalid.
Individual Namespaces
Customers with a Professional or Power License have the option to additionally acquire their own individual namespace (you@yourcompany). This allows for the ability to change the aliases that are registered to this namespace without any limit.
Also, you can use your namespace when setting up your client’s Access Control List.
In order to purchase your own namespace, please reach out to our Sales Team or upgrade your license by yourself on MyAnyDesk Portal by clicking the 'Upgrade!' button.
Assign or Change the Alias
Free license: Users with a free-license set the alias once. The alias will be bound to the corresponding ID and cannot be altered or reassigned.
Lite / Professional / Power license with a public namespace (you@ad): Users can change a chosen alias up to three times on [my.anydesk.com], always depending on whether this public alias is not yet taken by any other user in the AnyDesk network. The alias can be changed but not reassigned.

Professional / Power license with an individual namespace (you@yourcompany): Users can change or reassign the alias for all clients on [my.anydesk.com] without limit.
Enterprise: With an individual or public namespace (you@yourcompany or you@ad) users can change or reassign the alias for all clients on [my.anydesk.com]. They are not limited in how often they change it or which aliases to choose, even with the public namespace, as they are working within their own private network.
For all licenses: ID and alias are stored in the configuration file service.conf.If the configuration files get lost by any means, the ID and Alias will be lost. If the configuration file is not manually restored, this action cannot be undone. (See 'Backup & Restore Settings and ID' below.)
Backup & Restore Settings and ID
Warning: If the configuration files get lost by any means, the ID and Alias will be lost.If the configuration file is not manually restored, this action cannot be undone.
Some cases require you to backup the ID. In case you have a new device to use AnyDesk with, copy the configuration files in order to use the ID on the new system. The directory of the configuration files depends on whether you have installed AnyDesk or run it portable. The ID is stored in the service.conf
.Uninstallation will not touch or delete your ID or configuration files, except explicitly requested in the uninstallation menu.
To backup your identity, save the service.conf' in a secure location. This enables you to retrieve your Identity in case of data loss. To secure settings and recent session list with it, copy the entire folder:

- Install AnyDesk.
- Exit AnyDesk completely.
- Delete the service.conf file in %programdata%AnyDesk.
- Create the image for rollout/deployment.
